Our CONFERENCE ETIQUETTE and some other IMPORTANT details

1)

CAMERA: With many virtual events, video is one-way, but this is not a keynote or a webinar and we want to be able to see you and engage with you. Keep your camera on during the Conference so during the ‘first piece’ we can see you and during the workshops you will be able to fully participate. We will feel your energy, making the 2 hours one of the most fun and valuable virtual experiences you’ve EVER been a part of.
PS – Be aware of your surroundings (for example, if you need to use the toilet during the Conference, and you take your computer with you so you can still hear us, be sure to turn off your audio and video!) At your ‘check in’ we will tell you more!

2)

MICROPHONE: We are keeping the microphones live so we can hear your murmurings of appreciations and so there is a little bit of background hum in the air. However not so much as to disturb what is going on. We will mute you if the noise from where you are is too loud

3)

BEING PRESENT: Really “listen” to what is happening. Turn off your phones, go full screen so you are not distracted by anything else [like emails], turn of your notifications. Make BEING HERE for these two hours the most important thing. Being present is the best gift you can give yourself! If you have other people in and around the place you are joining us from, let them know what you are doing so they do not disturb you!

4)

EXPANSION: Whilst the Conference will be starting at 19:00 [BST] the ‘doors’ will open at 18:30 [BST] for you to come in settle down at a ‘small table’ in the ‘lounge’ and meet and chat with other participants. Take the time during any breaks to connect with fellow participants. The Conference will finish at 21:00 [BST] and the ‘after party’ will carry on till 21:30 [BST]

5)

QUESTIONS: We will be selecting three questions to pose to our presenters at the end of the ‘first piece’. Submit your questions in the chat room and we will choose the ones to ask. If it is possible to get other questions responded to during the ‘first piece’ we will get that organised as well.

6)

SNACKS: You will be with us for a few hours so bring some snacks, plenty of water and a coffee [or other beverage] to keep you going!!

7)

RECORDINGS: We will be recording each Weekly Conference and need to check that you are OK with that. We will not be making the video available for general consumption after the event but we will be using it later for creating training materials and articles. By being present at the Conference you give us permission to use video, audio and still images that you may be in.

8)

RISK-TAKING: During the Conference a presenter may ask you to stand up, or to stretch or to leave your immediate space to find something. It is important that you undertake your own risk assessments before doing anything that a presenter may suggest you do.
