Week Nine?! I thought it was only 8 weeks?!

We have had such fun putting on 8 weeks for you that we couldn't resist just one more week! Week nine is a thank you to all of you that have come and participated in 8 weeks, we've loved seeing you, whether it was just for one week or whether you've been with us for the last two months. So, week nine is FREE to anyone who has attended any session at 8 Weeks of Conference [and it'll be available as a live stream on Facebook: Meynell G Ames for everyone else!] Make sure you book your place by clicking the 'book now' button.

What's this week about?

I wanted to finish this Conference series with something inspirational, something uplifting and something that would give us positive hope for the future.

I also wanted to say ‘thank you’ to all of you who have been here with me and the tech team for being part of this adventure.

The format for Week 9 is slightly different: we have two main presenters in Ana Ardelean and Siôn Edwards and we also have our sponsors: Marguerite Hunter-Blair from Play Scotland, Anita Grant from Play England, Jacqueline O’Loughlin from Playboard NI and Mike Greenaway fromPlay Wales who wil each be giving a very short input on their vision of ‘a world that values children’

The final part of Week 9 will be an announcement about ‘8 Weeks of Conference : The Evening Sessions’ and a radical discount that will only be available on that day

How does the Conference work?

Conference doors open at 11am to give you the opportunity to sit around the ‘small table’ with people you know and people you have yet to know, to make friends and have conversations before the core part of conference starts. You will have the opportunity to move from one table to another as you mingle with other participants in our ‘lounge’.

The formal conference commences at 12 o’clock with an introduction from Meynell as conference chair, to each of our three presenters. Each of our presenters will then make a 15-20-minute presentation which we have nicknamed their ‘first piece’. You will be able to make comments on these presentations in a number of ways, as will have been explained to you in your pre-conference zoom registration. Once all three presenters have finished, we will take three questions from the floor, hopefully one for each presenter, before breaking out into the workshop sessions.

Each participant will be able to choose which workshop session they wish to attend, or you can choose to stay in the ‘lounge’ and network with other participants. The workshop sessions provide the participants an opportunity to go deeper into the subject matter presented in the first half of the conference. Each presenter will structure their workshop differently, but all will provide you the opportunity for engagement.
